Patriots’ David Andrews Provides Update On His Condition For 2020 Season

The New England Patriots have someone to look forward to in 2020. The team is looking forward to having David Andrews back on the field, and it looks like he will join his teammates in 2020.

Patriots center missed all of 2019 due to a blood clot in his lungs. He is progressing well in his recovery as confirmed by ESPN’s Mike Reiss on Sunday morning. Everything points to the fact that Andrews will return for the next season. Although it’s too early to make a prediction, we do believe that head coach Bill Belichick will have Davis back on the field in 2020.

“Patriots starting center David Andrews had expressed optimism about returning to play in 2020 after missing last season because of blood clots in his lungs, and I’m told he continues to receive positive medical reports and feels like he is in excellent condition physically. When I caught up with Andrews in January, he noted he had some important tests in late February. My understanding is the plan is to continue taking a cautious approach — there is no reason to rush things now — but things appear to be trending in the direction Andrews wants them to go.”

The Patriots missed David Andrews

Andrews is a two-time Super Bowl champion. The Patriots really needed him last season. His absence was felt. Ted Karras filled in admirably, particularly in the passing game, but didn’t really have much success with the blocking downfield. Andrews was brilliant on that position before his injury.

This will be a long offseason for the Patriots as they are trying to keep quarterback Tom Brady on the roster. The Patriots quarterback will enter the open market on March 18. Eighteen other players will become free agents as well.

Head coach Belichick will have to make a few important decisions this offseason. Brady is his priority, but their first phone conversation didn’t go well. How will their negotiations end? If Belichick doesn’t give his star quarterback a good deal, Brady may easily end up somewhere else. That could be Tennessee, Las Vegas, and even Los Angeles. He is the GOAT, remember? Where will he go?
