Bill Belichick Drops Hint at Possible Return of Julian Edelman

The New England Patriots placed veteran wideout Julian Edelman on injured reserve following his knee procedure and didn’t provide any info on his return. The 2018 Super Bowl MVP has been recovering for three weeks. Head coach Bill Belichick was an optimist about Edelman’s return to the field. Some NFL analysts thought that Edelman wouldn’t join his teammates this season.

According to most recent reports, Edelman’s recovery is doing pretty well.  In fact, Edelman will return to the facility this week.

Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston provided an update on Edelman’s condition. He reported on head coach Bill Belichick’s hint on Edelman. The Patriots head coach said that his star wideout will warm up prior to Wednesday’s practice.

This is more than great news for the Patriots nation.

Bill Belichick hopes to see Julian Edelman return to practice

Belichick hasn’t ruled out the three-time Super Bowl champion and hopes to see him back on the field at some point of the season. Well, the legendary coach didn’t provide precise info on Edelman and his return.

Veteran quarterback Cam Newton also revealed that the veteran has had solid progress.

Edelman appeared in seven games for the Patriots in 2020. He was an inconsistent player, and had just 21 receptions for 315 yards on the regular season. Edelman played his best football in the loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He had eight catches for 179 yards. That’s it. He didn’t provide large numbers in the next few games.

Maybe Edelman didn’t hit high numbers because of his knee. It was a nagging knee issue that bugged him throughout the season. He had to undergo a minor procedure to relieve his condition and get rid of any discomfort.

Patriots players and fans hope Edelman can return to the field as soon as possible. New England won the last couple of games, and this will motivate players to play even better in the game against the Houston Texans.

Houston won’t be able to stop the Patriots’ running game. That’s where Newton and his fellow runners step in.

New England improved the reputation and they are a step away from the playoff picture.
