Update Emerges On Julian Edelman Following Matchup vs Bills

The New England Patriots are well outside the playoff picture. The team was plagued with too many injuries this season and COVID-19 did its thing. New England had a mini outbreak in October, and some of the players ended up on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton missed some time on the field after he got the virus. He wasn’t the only veteran on the Patriots roster to deal with a major health concern. Veteran wideout Julian Edelman suffered a terrible injury and the team provided an update on his condition.

New England placed Edelman on injured reserve on Oct.31. He did join his teammates for practice, but the Patriots have yet to activate him to the 53-man roster.

The wideout missed eight straight games since his knee surgery. New England lost the game to the Miami Dolphins and left the playoff race for the season. The Patriots will play against the Buffalo Bills on Monday. It’s a home game for the team, and the New York Jets will arrive at Gillette Stadium for the final game of the season.

Julian Edelman to miss more time following the most recent update

Edelman is not the only Patriots player to miss Thursday’s practice. Defensive tackle Carl Davis was nowhere to be seen. The defensive tackle was supposed to return from injured reserve last week. He missed a lot of time due to the concussion he suffered during the game.

Left tackle Isaiah Wynn is dealing with an ankle issue. He can return to the roster, but didn’t show up for the Patriots’ practice Thursday.

New England had perfect attendance from the active roster and practice unit Thursday. The team has nothing to lose now, and head coach Bill Belichick won’t push too hard to win games. New England doesn’t really need to win games right now. These wins won’t change anything because the season is already over for Belichick’s team.

This brings us all the way to Newton. Coach Belichick will have to address the quarterback situation in the offseason. Newton may not stay in New England for the 2021 season and the Patriots have been linked with several veterans.
