Watch: Lakers New Hires Make Their Debut in Training Camp

The Los Angeles Lakers are back on the courts, and their new hires are now taking part in the most recent training camp. Lakers players have their first practice two months after winning the championship in Orlando. It was the 17th championship win in team history. They will have their preseason game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

How will newly acquired players handle the pressure?

The Lakers front office did a really great job on the field. Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka signed a few valuable players, including Dennis Schroder, Marc Gasol, Montrezl Harrell and a few others. Wesley Matthews is also part of the team. Moncrieff Morris and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope re-signed with the team. Pelinka did his best to fill the empty spots on the roster. The newly-signed players seem to be the right replacement for Dwight Howard, Danny Green, Avery Bradley, Rajon Rondo, and JaVale McGee.

Anthony Davis signed a five-year contract extension with the team. Jared Dudley is also here. KCP has re-signed with the team, and LeBron James signed a two-year extension with the team. This deal will give him $85 million. Davis will earn $190 million.

The Lakers took to their social media accounts to share some cool photos of the first practice. New Lakers players look really well on the basketball court and everyone knows it.

New Lakers hires look good in training

Davis and LeBron are the only players with a guaranteed spot in the starting lineup. Schroder would love to join the first five, but Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has yet to make a decision on this possibility. The German native would be a good fit for the Lakers starting lineup. If you take a closer look to his numbers, you will notice that his stats are better coming off the bench. Maybe Vogel won’t make too many changes in this aspect.

NBA finalists get 100 days before the upcoming season. Players get a lot of time to get ready and prepare for the upcoming season. The pandemic has changed this, and LA has less time to get ready.
