Report: LeBron James Could Return ‘As Soon As This Week’

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has missed 19 straight games and his teammates can’t wait for him to return. The four-time NBA champion is out due to a high-ankle sprain and has the longest stretch of missed games in his career. Recent reports reveal that LeBron has surpassed the games he missed in his debut with the team due to his groin strain.

LA went 8-11 in the past few weeks. The team entered the 2020-21 NBA season as the top seed in the Western Conference. LeBron and Anthony Davis suffered terrible injuries and the team fell to the fifth seed in the conference.

When LeBron suffered his injury, the Lakers were the No.3 seed. They hit the No.5 seed now.

LeBron James is nearing his return

LeBron recovers from his injury and he will return soon. Dave McMenamin and Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported that LeBron will probably return this week.

“James could return as soon as this week, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. James has looked ‘strong’ in his ramp-up workouts on the Lakers’ current road trip, a source told ESPN.”

The Lakers will end their road trip on Wednesday in the game against the Washington Wizards. LeBron is not expected to play. Well, LA plays on Friday and they are going against the Sacramento Kings at the Staples Center. Maybe he will return by April 30.

The Lakers have a back-to-back against the Toronto Raptors and Denver Nuggets on May 2 and May 3. LA will probably hold LeBron out until the second game against the Nuggets.

Lakers veteran Dennis Schroder didn’t want to say much but he did reveal that LeBron is nearing his return.

“I know, but it’s probably the Lakers organization who’s gonna tell you guys. I mean, he’s close, I can tell you that much. So we can’t wait for him to get back and help us win games again and be together at the right time with 10, 11 games left and then like I said, get to work.”
