Peter King Suggests Patriots Make ‘Most Sense’ For Julio Jones Trade

The New England Patriots have shown interest in elite wide receiver Julio Jones, and they may get him through a trade deal. Peter King has something to say about Jones and his chances to join the Patriots.

Jones said that he wants out of the Atlanta Falcons. The team has already placed him on the trade block. New England seems like a good option at the moment and Jones can easily ink a deal with the franchise.

Peter King has a theory on Patriots and their interest in Julio Jones trade

According to King, Atlanta will trade the elite wideout. He isn’t sure whether the Patriots will get him. But, King sure believes that Atlanta will get rid of the wide receiver in the next few weeks.

“I think at the end of the day New England makes an awful lot of sense,” King said Friday on “PFT Live.” “It makes a lot of sense because Bill Belichick has shown time and again that he’s not afraid of — you go back to Randy Moss in ’07, where everybody was staying away from Randy Moss and he said, ‘I’ll take Randy Moss.’ To me, I really think the Patriots make the most sense.”Would you compare Moss’ situation in 2007 to Jones’ contract situation in 2021. Moss was two years younger than the Falcons wide receiver. Age is an important aspect at this point. We all know that wide receivers don’t always age with grace.

The Patriots could get Moss for a fourth-round selection. The rumored asking price for the Falcons receiver is a first- or second-round selection. Head coach Bill Belichick may believe that Jones is too pricey at the moment. Let’s not forget that the receiver is coming off an injury-plagued season.

The seven-time Pro Bowl selection has three years left on his Atlanta deal.

New England can use a top 1 receiver despite the offseason spending spree. The team got Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne. Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith are part of the team, too. Belichick will soon make a move. The only thing we can do is make guesses.
