Analyst Suggests Lakers Superstar Take Pay Cut to Get ‘More Help’

The Los Angeles Lakers may leave the playoff run tonight and the front office will have to make a few moves in the offseason. According to some analysts, a Lakers superstar will have to agree to a pay cut to help the team.

The team is dealing with a 3-1 deficit at the moment. The Phoenix Suns won three games of the series, and players struggle to score.

Lakers role players have been really inconsistent in the regular season. If they lose in the first round of the playoffs, they will have to make some major changes.

King James is 36 and his body has seen many changes over the years. Anthony Davis is dealing with so many injuries at the moment. In other words, the Lakers will have to add a third star if they want to win more titles.

The Lakers superstar may offer a pay cut

Colin Cowherd from Fox Sports says that LeBron should give the team a discount to bring the top player to LA.

“LeBron has to look in the mirror and go ‘do I have to work out my contract here eventually? Take a little less to have a little more help.’ I think it would help them in the pursuit of championships,” Cowherd said on The Herd. “It’s going to be an interesting offseason.”

LeBron may be 36 but he is worth every dollar he gets. NBA contacts can’t be restricted once they are signed. LA will have to pay King James through the 2022-23 season.

The front office decided to extend LeBron’s contract in the offseason. He will have to be with the team until the end of the 2022-23 season at huge money. Well, yes, LeBron has really earned every bit of the money and LA doesn’t regret the decision.

Some say LeBron isn’t as effective as he used to be due to the ankle injury he sustained. However, he plays MVP basketball and that sure means a thing.

For now, the Lakers are doing their best to win the series. Things look a little tough at the moment.
