Cam Newton Trains With Jakobi Meyers, Jonnu Smith In New IG Post

The New England Patriots have a really awkward situation in the locker room. There are four quarterbacks on the roster. Coach Belichick selected Mac Jones with the 15th overall and many believe that he is the quarterback with the brightest future. Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham have a spot on the roster, too. Belichick signed the veteran to a one-year deal and Stidham did a good job in OTAs. What about the starting quarterback? Cam Newton was training with Patriots players and Belichick wouldn’t mind putting him under center in September.

Everything points to the fact that Newton will be the Patriots’ starting quarterback in the upcoming season. Of course, there’s still possibility for Jones to replace him at some point of the season.

Newton is building chemistry with Patriots pass catchers. He works with the guys he knows but spends time with the newly-added players as well.

The 2015 NFL MVP is competing with Jones for the starting job and his work with Patriots players will help him secure his job.

Cam Newton is training for the win

If you check out Newton’s latest Instagram post, you will notice that he has already worked out with Jakobi Meyers and Jonnu Smith. It’s important to point out that Newton is a great fan of Meyers.

NFL players like to hang out in the offseason. Patriots players have been doing this since forever. Training camp is a month away and we will be seeing more of this. Patriots quarterbacks are training with pass catchers. Stidham did the same.

Newton shares a lot on his Instagram page and we believe this video was made during his recent workouts. Smith was inactive at minicamp earlier this month. He was recovering from his hamstring injury and we can easily see that he feels much better at the moment.

The New England Patriots look great at the moment and Belichick will keep working on his winning formula. He trusts Newton and pretty much every other player on the roster. Newton has excellent relationship with his teammates. But Patriots players like Jones, too. Which one will prevail?
