NFL Insider Has Update On N’Keal Harry Plan For Training Camp

NFL fans would love to get an update on wideout N’Keal Harry and his future with the New England Patriots. He is one of the receivers on Bill Belichick’s roster and he has just requested a trade.

And he did it publicly. Through his agent.

The Patriots head coach will have to find a replacement for the third-year wideout. If New England trades Harry, Belichick will get a conditional sixth-rounder. A terrible compensation, right?

A lot of signs point to the fact that Harry won’t stay with the Patriots much longer. However, fans won’t worry about him missing training camp. Will Harry join his teammates?

Patriots players are starting out training camp in two weeks. NFL insider Josina Anderson provided an update on Harry’s future with the Patriots.

“As dialogue continues with the team, I’m told the current plan is for Patriots WR N’Keal Harry to attend training camp,” Anderson wrote. “In his ongoing preparation for team activities, Harry currently has plans to train with T.J. Houshmandzadeh, per source.”

Promising update on N’Keal Harry and his future

Harry and the Patriots will get enough time to reach an agreement on his next move. How will Belichick handle his trade request?

Harry’s agent confirmed his trade request. The wideout didn’t meet the expectations Belichick had when he selected the talented player. Harry was an excellent prospect and he did a great job in college. His agent believes that Harry deserves a fresh start. According to him, it’s best for both parties if the third-round wideout moves on before Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season.

“Through two seasons, he has 86 targets, which obviously hasn’t met the expectations the Patriots and N’Keal had when they drafted a dominant downfield threat who was virtually unstoppable at the point of attack in college,” Jamal Tooson said. “Following numerous conversations with the Patriots I believe it’s time for a fresh start and best for both parties if N’Keal moves on before the start of training camp. That is why I have informed the Patriots today I am formally requesting a trade on behalf of my client.”

Mike Florio from ProFootballTalk reported that the Patriots may get a fifth-round draft pick in return for the young receiver.

In his first two years with the team, Harry stacked 45 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. He will earn $1.4 million in 2021 and $1.8 million in 2022.
