Bill Belichick Offers Shares Early Impressions Of Patriots Rookie Christian Barmore

Head coach Bill Belichick has nothing but words of praise for one New England Patriots rookie. The Patriots head coach was really careful in the NFL Draft and he brought a group of valuable players to the roster.

Christian Barmore is one of them. It seems like the Patriots rookie turned heads in training camp.

The Patriots traded up to pick Barmore with the 38th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. His trip to the NFL wasn’t really smooth, but now he has a chance to do something great.

Bill Belichick likes the Patriots rookie

This doesn’t change the fact that Barmore is a first-round talent. He was great in Patriots OTAs. The player had similar success in the early days of Patriots training camp. We are definitely waiting for the full-padded session.

“Christian’s a very talented player,” Patriots head coach Bill Belichick told reporters Monday morning. “Just got a lot of physical skills. Size, strength, quickness, so forth. Obviously been in a good program. Been well-coached. Some of the things we’re doing are similar to what he’s done. There are some things that are a little bit different, but he’s made a lot of progress, but we’ll see how that goes when the pads come on and when the real bullets start flying.

“It’s hard to evaluate the offensive and defensive line without any kind of contact, which is essentially the way it’s been, so we’ll see how it goes for all of them when we get contact and blocking and the feet and blocks and pass rushing and pass protection and so forth, so we’ll see.”

Barmore has to work really hard to get more playing time on the Patriots’ defense. Let’s not forget that the Patriots have a loaded depth chart. The rookie has to do his best to get a consistent role with the team. He looks good in practice, but Belichick will wait to see more from him.

The player has a potential to be part of the Patriots’ interior defensive line.
