Kyle Kuzma Drops Truth Bomb on LeBron James Effect on His Career

Kyle Kuzma spent some time with the Los Angeles Lakers and he learned a lot from LeBron James and the rest of the guys. Kuzma is out from the team as the Lakers traded him to the Washington Wizards. Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a similar destiny. Some said Kuzma would be frustrated after the trade, but truth is, he is grateful for everything he learned during his time with the Lakers.

The Lakers got Russell Westbrook in the trade and he will be the third superstar behind LeBron and Anthony Davis. Kuzma learned a lot from these two and he is taking his talent to the Wizards.

Kyle Kuzma will apply the advice he got from LeBron James

In a post for The Player’s Tribune, Kuzma shared details of his game with LeBron. He described the impact LeBron had on his game.

“I know that being around LeBron has reshaped my thinking in all of these important ways. Like, just the idea of thinking about a game as being about more than the score. I think in my first couple of years here, I was kind of a slave to the scoreboard. But now, I’ve had multiple games this year, where I’ve pushed myself so far beyond that. Or the idea of fully committing to doing it all — and just watching a guy like LeBron play defense, score, playmake, and also rebound, basically go all out, every single night. I never thought I would ever even come close to triple doubles….. but I understand how that kind of game is possible now.”

Kuzma struggled with inconsistency and the Lakers didn’t benefit from his game. Inconsistent players are never good. Many would agree with him in this one but he didn’t really get the best of his time on the floor. Maybe he will have more luck with the Wizards.

Several other teams have shown interest in the young player. The Brooklyn Nets are mentioned as an option. Will Kuzma play with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving? That would be a big challenge. Let’s wait and see what happens next season. Things got really hot in the NBA. Who will win the title in 2022?
