Lakers Just Inked Another Key Free Agent

The Los Angeles Lakers signed several veterans in the past couple of weeks. Russell Westbrook, Trevor Ariza, Carmelo Antony, and a few others made the roster this offseason. The Lakers signed another key free agent and the roster looks pretty good right now.

LA has already unleashed a few offseason moves ahead of the 2021-22 regular season. On Tuesday afternoon, the purple and gold added a free agent to the roster. NBA analysts have great expectations from the player and many would agree that he is a good fit for LA.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported that the Lakers have inked former Miami Heat guard Kendrick Nunn. He will join their roster and hopefully, will be able to make an impact.

Lakers sign key free agent for the win

Nunn inked a two-year deal with the Lakers. Here’s more… Nunn agreed to take a big pay cut in order to get his ring with the Lakers. Truth is, Rob Pelinka is building a championship-winning team and NBA veterans would gladly win a ring at the sunset of their professional careers.

The veteran went undrafted in 2018 and the Miami Heat added him to their roster. Nunn’s rookie campaign went really well. His 2019-20 season was excellent and he was named to the NBA’s All-Rookie First-Team. The young guard was averaging 15.3 points per game. Nunn continued his awesome scoring production in 2020-21 and averaged 14.6 points per game.

The Lakers engaged in a blockbuster trade to get Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards. Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope left the team. Alex Caruso left the Lakers to ink a deal with the Chicago Bulls. Pelinka had several holes to cover and he signed a few veterans on the first day of free agency.

Malik Monk earned his spot on the Lakers roster. Pelinka also added Wayne Ellington and Kent Bazemore. NBA big man Dwight Howard found his way back to LA after spending a year with another team.

LA is packed with talent and players can’t wait for the regular season to begin. It’s showtime!
