Bill Belichick Reacts To Patriots Moving Atop AFC East

Bill Belichick has given his reaction to the New England Patriots moving atop the AFC East. The Patriots have now won 5 straight games and it is clear that they have some confidence. The defense has been strong from the beginning of the season. Now, the offense has been stepping up in a big way as the season stretches on. Mac Jones has been impressive in the wins as a rookie. If he can keep it up, the Patriots could easily become division champs.

With the Buffalo Bills losing, the Patriots have now moved ahead of them in the division standings. Head coach Bill Belichick was asked about this and he gave a pretty typical response.

“Didn’t really think about that,” Belichick said recently. “We’ll just take it one day at a time here and get ready for Tennessee.”

The Patriots are also a complete team. The chemistry that they have feels different than it has in the past. Maybe that is the rookie QB coming to play but something does feel different. Bill Belichick also talked about this.

“The relationship with the players is always a very special one. It’s not something, as a coach, that you can orchestrate. I think it just has to happen. Hopefully, you put players together that will be able to form those kinds of relationships, trust, camaraderie, and all those things, but it’s not anything you can legislate.”

“It just kind of has to happen. I’m glad it’s happening, and I’m glad they do have that feeling because I do think there’s a chemistry that goes with communication, anticipation, knowing what the other guy’s doing and him knowing what you’re doing and being able to play aggressively with all that.”

“It’s a good thing. I’m glad they feel that way, and I’m glad that’s developing. It takes time. It takes some success. It’s not something you can talk about, and it magically happens. You need to back it up with some results that reinforce what you’re doing, what they’re feeling.”
