Dwight Howard Perfectly Explains Decision to Live With 50 Snakes

Los Angeles Lakers big man Dwight Howard has given some insight on his decision to live with 50 snakes. The Lakers have been very poor to start the season. There really is no way around it, the Lakers are a bad basketball team right now. Not only is the play on the court bad to start the season but there are tempers flaring up as well. We all remember what happened in one recent game against the Detriot Pistons. The ‘fight’ ended in LeBron James being suspended for one game.

This game was against the Knicks, which the Lakers ended up losing. They will need to figure out a lot of things if they want to make it to the playoffs at all, let alone make another deep run. It has been shocking to see them struggle the way they have. This is causing a lot of fans around the league to call for head coach Frank Vogel to be fired.

But outside of the play on the court, some questions have come up for one Lakers player. Apparently, Dwight Howard is quite a fan of reptiles. Specifically, he is a big fan of snakes. He recently explained why he chooses to live with snakes and why they have such a bad reputation.

“People give snakes a bad rap. They’re very docile creatures, very silent and don’t do a lot of moving unless they’re outside their cages. I think they’re amazing. Reptiles can teach you a lot about how to be still.”

“It might sound crazy, but I think snakes are always in a meditative state. They’re so zen and calm. They follow the energy that’s around them. They see heat signatures, which is like energy. You can tell by a person’s body heat what type of person they really are. Snakes can help you [understand] the people around you. Every snake I’ve had, they’ve only really snapped at people that were not good for me.”

Well, that is a pretty interesting life choice from Dwight Howard. It sounds like he has not stayed unbitten, either. We wish him the best of luck with his snakes.
