This Bill Belichick Comment Should Give Fans Confidence For 2022 Draft

The New England Patriots will enter the 2022 NFL Draft with great expectations. This year’s class offers a lot of talented guys and the Patriots will probably get the best of their picks. Head coach Bill Belichick will make bold moves in the 2022 draft and he may get the receivers his team needs. The Patriots have to fill the holes on their roster.

Robert Kraft doesn’t like the fact that his team missed the chance to win the title in the last few seasons. Belichick gets the message and his most recent comment brings hope to us all. The Patriots selected a great group of players in 2021. They got Mac Jones and he will probably be the team’s quarterback of the future.

Robert Kraft wants Bill Belichick to get great picks in the 2022 draft

According to Kraft, the Patriots need a fresh batch of new picks.

“That’s the only way you can build your team for the long term and consistently that you have a chance of winning is having a good draft,” Kraft said at the NFL Annual Meeting in Palm Beach, Fla.

The Patriots scouting staff looks a lot different now. Matt Groh is the Patriots director of player personnel. He was the director of college scouting and the Patriots offered him a promotion.

Belichick has nothing but great words for Groh and everything he has accomplished with the team.

“Matt’s done a tremendous job for us,” Belichick said in his first offseason news conference. “Very smart, very detailed. Obviously has a great football background with his dad (former NFL and college head coach Al Groh), his family. He’s grown up in football. He’s scouted multiple areas for us, has had multiple responsibilities from area scouts on the West Coast and the Southeast, regional scout, national scout.

“He really put the draft together last year as the director of college scouting, and with Dave leaving, I feel like he’s the best person to step into the personnel job. He’s done a great job. He’s as good as anybody we’ve had in that position.”

Let’s see how things go. Kraft wants great draft picks. Belichick has the freedom to choose and he trusts his assistants.
