Julian Edelman Speaks At More Length About His NFL Comeback

The New England Patriots lost a few valuable players in retirement. Rob Gronkowski left the team and remained retired for a year. Of course, he returned to the NLF and joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady left the team to sign with the Buccaneers. Julian Edelman called it career, too, and fans still hope to see him announce his comeback.

The 2018 Super Bowl MVP said he will retire once his wheels come off. He sustained serious injuries and even underwent a surgery. Edelman knew that he would have to retire at some point.

There have been so many rumors about Edelman’s potential return to New England. Some believe he will follow Gronk’s steps and join the Buccaneers.

Julian Edelman to surprise fans with his comeback?

The wideout traveled to Croatia to take part in a speaking engagement. Believe it or not, Jules left the door open for a comeback. The wideout called it career in 2021 and fans still want to see him join the Patriots. Reporters wanted to know more about this scenario and Edelman received a lot of questions about it.

“The amount of work I have to put into my body to train, to make me confident — like, that’s so much for the output because of the injuries, my knees, this, that. I’m not getting the same output,” Edelman said. “So now that I’ve taken a year off and I’m not loading my body, compounding loads every single day, my body feels pretty straight, you know? I’ve gone and dabbled out and you go run routes. But then, you see when you run routes, the next day, like, all right, I’m not too bad, but I’m already like 10,000 reps behind I feel in my mind.”

Edelman would be a good fit for the Patriots. He may not be the No.1 receiver on Bill Belichick’s roster. However, his veteran experience will definitely help the Patriots win more games. Edelman is one of the best wideouts in the NFL after all. He built an excellent career and fans still hope to see the best of him.
