Patriots Offensive Lineman Best in 2020 Draft Class

The New England Patriots have a lot of valuable players on the roster. Head coach Bill Belichick will work with an excellent group of draft picks. His players accomplished a lot in 2021 and NFL experts expect similar performance in 2022. A Patriots offensive lineman will definitely contribute to his success because he is the best in his draft class.

Pro Football Focus said that Patriots offensive lineman Michael Onwenu is the best in his class. He was a sixth-round pick from the 2020 NFL Draft.

Head coach Bill Belichick used the 182nd overall pick to get Onwenu in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He saw action in 32 games and will have a key role on Belichick’s offense in 2022. Onwenu was really great and PFF graded him as the best offensive lineman in his draft class.

Of course, Onwenu will have to try really hard in the upcoming season. The Patriots need every bit of his talent. Shaq Mason is no longer part of the team and Onwenu will probably benefit from the change.

Patriots offensive lineman to contribute in 2022

Mason was a real star on the Patriots offense. He joined Tom Brady and Tampa Bay and Belichick will have to replace him with the best alternative. Coach B is really confident about his offensive lineman and this makes things easier for everyone. Onwenu and Isaiah Wynn will take care of the right side of the offense. They are young and talented.

The offense will have to elevate at a higher level. According to PFF, the offense is the seventh best in the league.

“The Patriots personify the “high floor” aspect of this tier,” wrote Michael Renner. “Four of their five offensive line starters have proven to be solid over the course of their NFL careers. Cole Strange is the one possible pain point, as he’s making the leap from FCS to the NFL. Going from Shaq Mason to a rookie could be a rocky transition for New England.”

That’s more than awesome, right? It’s a good update after all.
