This Mac Jones Stat Motivating Amid Patriots’ Offensive Line Shuffle

The New England Patriots will enter the 2022 NFL season with a few major changes on the offense. First, Josh McDaniels left the Patriots to coach the Las Vegas Raiders. Second, Ted Karras left the team. Third, Shaq Mason is no longer a Patriot. Head coach Bill Belichick lost starters and his new team will have to overcome major obstacles. Luckily, Mac Jones and his stat make everything easier for the Patriots.

Jones led the Patriots to a seven-game winning streak. He did a really good job in his rookie campaign. NFL analysts have high expectations from Jones.

The Alabama prospect is bonding with his teammates. He and Kendrick Bourne did a good job in 2021. Jones was able to work with DeVante Parker in spring OTAs and yes, they look really well together.

Jones established an excellent connection with McDaniels. The former Patriots OC is gone now and Jones will have to work with Joe Judge and Matt Patricia. This will be a big challenge for the Patriots quarterback.

Patriots assistants are really happy with Jones’ performance. He was a star in practice and things can only get better.

Mac Jones surprises doubters with his stat

Pro Football Focus ranked signal-callers who faced huge pressure in 2021. Quarterbacks were given grades for clean-pocket passing and pressured-pocket passing.

Jones got a grade of 84.5 when clean. This number went as low as 56.5 when the quarterback faced pressure. Jones ranks 23rd on the list. Taylor Heinicke and Patrick Mahomes surround Jones on this list.

“Like Heinicke, Jones’ pressure performance was around average for the group. He went 66-for-123 with 730 yards, six touchdowns and four picks,” PFF’s Bryant Horn wrote. “His 40 first downs were slightly on the low end, but he tallied just six turnover-worthy plays, which was tied for the second-fewest.”

Believe it or not, Jones ranked better than Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Justin Herbert, and Aaron Rodgers. Interesting, right?

Jones has an army of doubters, but his great performance will make them change their minds. He may become a star sooner than expected.
