If this deal happens, the Lakers will get Patrick Beverley and Kyrie Irving. Brooklyn will have Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, and Julius Randle. Durant has requested a trade, so yes, he can end up in Utah. LA has been linked to Irving for quite some time, so yes again, he may land with the Lakers. Is Brooklyn even interested in getting Russ?

Blockbuster trade sends Russell Westbrook to Brooklyn, makes Lakers contenders

One thing stands for sure, Westbrook’s relationship with the Lakers turned into a mess. He attended a Lakers Summer League and LeBron James was in the arena. They didn’t greet each other. Several sources reported that LeBron and Anthony Davis want the Lakers to trade for Irving. Trade Russ for Irving?

“A year ago, everything LeBron and Westbrook did, they were like arm-in-arm throughout the entire lead up to the season. So there’s no doubt about the erosion in their relationship here. We know that Westbrook, at the end of the season, spoke about LeBron and Anthony Davis paying lip service in letting him play his game. We also know that of course, LeBron wants the roster upgraded to include Kyrie Irving, and that means trading Westbrook,” Windhorst said during the episode.

Westbrook hasn’t requested a trade from the Lakers. He even attended Darvin Ham’s introductory press conference. He doesn’t seem to be planning his future somewhere else right now.
