The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to several star veterans, but they may pull out a big move and agree to a big blockbuster trade for a young star. Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, but he changed his mind and decided to stay in Brooklyn. This changes the whole situation and Kyrie Irving will probably stay in his current team. What will Rob Pelinka do now? Who is the next target?

The Lakers have their eyes on the Indiana Pacers and Utah Jazz. These teams are trying to make some changes and this should definitely benefit the purple and gold. LA can easily get Patrick Beverley, Jordan Clarkson, and Bojan Bogdanovic. Here’s a plot twist. LeBron James and his teammates may share the floor with a bigger star.

Lakers to find another partner in the blockbuster trade

John Cambadoro reported that the Lakers may do an effort to get three-time All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell. Does this make sense?

Couple things on Donovan Mitchell. The Hawks, Heat & Kings are NOT interested contrary to reports. Knicks still have the best package to offer but other teams interested are Cleveland, Washington, Charlotte, LA Lakers & Brooklyn. And no the Jazz never asked for 7 1st round picks!

Mitchell is a brilliant player and his performance could be of great help for the Lakers. They left the playoff race a little too soon this past season and Pelinka needs new names to reshape his roster. Mitchell makes perfect sense for the Lakers and he will do wonders alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis.

The Lakers may face difficulties when it comes to getting Mitchell. Pelinka will have to give up on many players to get him. This also includes top picks. Russell Westbrook could be the first tradeable option and Pelinka should add a couple of first-rounders and young players. Talen Horton-Tucker’s time with the Lakers may be brought to an end. The same goes to Austin Reaves and Kendrick Nunn. Let’s see how this goes.

If this offer doesn’t work, the Lakers should look for a third partner. A three-team trade should work for every party involved. Pelinka should take into consideration the fact that the market is a bit tight at this point. He is running out of options and the front office should act fast.
