Ex LeBron James Teammate Predicts MVP & 10-Time All-Star To Sign With Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers will make big moves in the offseason and experts believe they may sign LeBron James’ teammate. Yes, the king of basketball has shared the floor with many players and one of them could join him in LA.

James Harden.

The 10-time All-Star made a lot of hot headlines in the last two seasons. He made a few stops in the NBA and now he is playing with the Philadelphia 76ers. It’s interesting to note that Harden was never mentioned as a target for the Lakers. However, Chris Haynes from Bleacher Report has something to say about this.

According to Haynes, Harden will decline the player option on his contract and test the open market. This will give Harden an opportunity to join another team.

Lakers LeBron could soon team up with his former teammate

Harden and LeBron played together in Cleveland. Kendrick Perkins can already see him put on a Lakers jersey.

“Harden to the Lakers makes all the sense in the world,” Perkins said on the June 14 episode of ESPN’s “NBA Today.” “He has shown that he’s able to transition to the PG position, we saw how well him and Embiid worked in the pick-and-roll. Imagine him and Anthony Davis in the pick-and-roll. Imagine him taking pressure off of LeBron James as far as being the ball handler. I think it would be a match made in heaven.”

Harden comes from Bellflower, California, which increases the likelihood of seeing him in LA again. He didn’t really show any interest in playing with home teams, but hey, this could change and Harden may come home really soon.

There are several other scenarios on Harden’s desk. He can go back to Houston, given that he played nine seasons with the Rockets and earned his MVP award as a Rocket player.

Greg Swartz prefers the Harden-to-the-Lakers scenario. He insists that the Lakers could emerge as a great landing spot for Harden.

“What about a team that just reached the conference finals, has an opening at point guard and the possibility to carve out roughly $30 million in cap space?” Swartz wrote on May 24. “The Lakers actually make a lot of sense for Harden, especially if Kyrie Irving re-signs with the Dallas Mavericks and L.A. has already seen enough out of D’Angelo Russell.”
