LeBron James Drops Hot Take On Iowa, Caitlin Clark’s Advantage Over Men’s College Basketball Stars

LeBron James is still invested in college basketball topics. The four-time NBA champion doesn’t mince his words when it comes to college basketball. This time he voiced his opinion on Iowa and Caitlin Clark. She became a star and set up the criteria really high.

LeBron used the opportunity to talk about the difference between women and men’s college basketball.

WNBA draftees can enter the draft at 22. This gives them plenty of time to sharpen their skills. Women get to play a lot of college basketball before they join the big game.

According to LeBron, playing basketball in college was of great help in her case.

“The number one thing is in women’s sports compared to the men, we have the ability to go to the NBA right after our freshman year,” LeBron said of Iowa. “In the women’s game, you have the ability to build your legacy and build your rapport, and brand with that fan base, with that community.”

LeBron mentioned Clark as a clear example of the advantage in women’s college basketball

The Lakers superstar then talked about Clark and the greatness she showed on the basketball court. LeBron also mentioned a few other WNBA stars. They had an opportunity to grow and develop.

“Caitlin Clark. I mean back in the day when it was like Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Chamique Holdsclaw, you know, Candace Parker. You know you’re watching these girls, they’re doing it. Kelsey Plum at Washington, you’re watching these girls year after year after year continue to grow,” LeBron added.

Clark elevated the game in Iowa to another level. She has an army of fans at such a young age. Clark is a star and she has a bright future in the world of basketball.

“You get a woman to stay on campus, 3-4 years. I think that has a lot to do with the popularity of their sport,” LeBron ended.

Clark shots opponents with her ability to shoot from the deep. She worked hard to earn her second Wooden Award.
