Shaquille O’Neal Says Star LeBron James Deserves Statue From Lakers

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal watched LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers win a title inside the NBA bubble in 2020. Big O’Neal was happy with the fact that Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson decided to bring LeBron to LA. It was a big move and the four-time NBA champion helped the franchise win a title. If you ask O’Neal, the Lakers should set up a LeBron statue in front of Crypto.com Arena.

LeBron has earned an army of supporters in LA, but he also has a bunch of people talking nonsense behind his back. These guys question his legacy despite the fact that LeBron helped the Lakers win a title in the middle of a pandemic.

“So, LeBron is one, as a Laker. He broke the [scoring] record as a Laker. Would I oppose him having a statue? I would not. If they wanna give him a statue, I’d be fine with that. Great player, great for the league. And he did what he was supposed to do as a Laker,” via Sportskeeda.

O’Neal supports LeBron James’ legacy and his great work with the Lakers

O’Neal watched LeBron accomplish a lot as a Laker. He gave the team a title and carried it on his back. Yes, LeBron did more than any other player in the NBA. He is also the all-time leading scorer wearing a Lakers uniform.

The Lakers should definitely give LeBron a statue. O’Neal got his in 2017. He won three rings as a Laker and the franchise decided to reward him. LeBron deserves similar treatment.

Of course, some fans believe late Kobe Bryant should get a statue first. We have people saying that LeBron shouldn’t get a title at all. According to O’Neal, some fans are “real greedy.”

“But the thing about the Lakers is that Laker fans are real greedy, Okay you got us this bubble championship, but when are you going to give us another? It’s always that.”

LeBron is making big topics these days. Getting a statue is quite an honor, but he has other concerns at the moment. Well, it’s not really a concern. LeBron has to make a decision about his future and his eventual retirement.
