Lakers Coach Darvin Ham Drops Lofty Statement On Lakers 2023 Outlook

The Los Angeles Lakers had huge success last season and almost made the NBA Finals. It was a good season despite the fact that they didn’t win a title. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham is convinced that his team can do much better in 2023 and has high expectations from his players.

“Absolutely,” Ham said. “I think the sky is the limit for what we will be able to do. … I think we added a lot of depth, a lot of guys that have skill, size and athleticism, so I look forward to all of that coming together.”

The front office kept the core intact and was able to re-sign Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and D’Angelo Russell. LeBron James and Anthony Davis still have their leading role on the floor. This squad built strong chemistry last season and things can only get better this time.

Reaves is ready to play his basketball and help the team win a championship. Yes, the talented player is ready to grab his first ring.

“I feel really, really good about what we did,” Reaves said. “Those pieces fit really well with what we kinda need because we lacked that last year. Overall, everybody’s competitive, and we kinda got that taste last year of running it back and trying to win a championship.”

Head coach Ham and his Lakers players will do wonders in 2023

Ham has high expectations from Reaves and even believes that he will suit up for the All-Star game.

“I’m putting it on record right now: Austin Reaves will be an All-Star at some point soon,” Ham said on the “#thisleague: UNCUT” podcast on July 13. “I think…him being invited to be a part of the World Cup team is the first step in that direction.”

The Lakers have a solid foundation to work with. Players are motivated and hyped up. Who will be the star of the show this time? Reaves and Hachimura have gained a lot of fans last season. We have a good feeling about this one…
