LeBron James Compares Lakers’ Young Star Austin Reaves To Michael Jordan

The Los Angeles Lakers had great performance in the NBA In-Season Tournament and came out as winners. LeBron James and his teammates did a wonderful job and he had great words for each and every player on Darvin Ham’s roster. He said Anthony Davis was just like Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal and compared Austin Reaves to Michael Jordan. Oh, yes, the king of basketball admires great players and these two worked really hard to get here.

Davis had a monster performance, scoring 41 points and 20 rebounds. Reaves finished the game against the Indiana Pacers with 28 points on 60% shooting and also added three assists and two rebounds. He hit 22 points in his first 12 minutes of game action.

“Who had the better flu game: AR or [Michael Jordan],” LeBron said following the 123-109 win. “It’s up for debate.’”

LeBron wants Reaves to channel his inner Jordan

Reaves did not brag around about his performance at all. He played serious basketball as usual and it was one of his better performances as a Laker.

“I’m gonna let LeBron keep talking and I’m gonna continue to talk about the game,” the young star said.

Reporters asked a lot of questions about his stats and Reaves’ response was humble.

“I just try to play the game the right way,” he told the media. “Everything kind of worked tonight.”

Some of the questions reporters asked were related to his plans for the $500,000 prize money. Joining a golf club maybe?

“Honestly, I have no idea,” Reaves said. “The only thing I could actually think of is join a golf club in L.A. somewhere so I can golf whenever I want out there.”

LeBron praised Davis and Reaves, and they can all agree that AD was the star of the show.

 “I don’t really think I need to say anything. I think all what he did um stood for itself,” Reaves said of the Lakers big man. “When he plays like that, there’s – probably no one – but not many people better than him in the league. So shout out to him for doing that tonight and basically for the whole season we’ve had so far.”

We do hope to see more of this later in the season. The Lakers have a good chance to win a title this time.
