Bill Belichick Linked To New Team Amid Crazy Rumors

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichcik has been linked to several NFL teams so far, but the Atlanta Falcons are out of this equation. Belichick will definitely sign with a new team as the Atlanta Falcons are no longer available. If he decides to join a NFL team, he will have to choose between the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Commanders. It’s interesting to note that he hasn’t had an interview with either of these teams.

Adam Schefter from ESPN discussed Belichick’s next move and provided another perspective. According to one of his scenarios, Belichick could step in as a replacement for Andy Reid if he decides to call it career.

“This is purely speculative, I want to be very clear and we’re just throwing this out there, having some fun,” Schefter said on Get Up on Friday, “but we’ve heard over and over about the possibility that at some point in time, Andy Reid could walk away from football. Reid will be 66 next season and he’s been around since 1999.

“So if the Chiefs were to win the Super Bowl this year, could that, would that, make him more likely to walk? And if he did walk, at that point in time, you’re the Kansas City Chiefs and Bill Belichick is still out there, would that not be an interesting possibility?”

Belichick could really sign with a new team

Schefter is not the only analyst to support this scenario. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk also believes that Reid will call it career after the end of the season.

“There’s enough that I’ve heard from enough people I completely trust over the last few weeks to make me think the Chiefs are at least thinking, ‘What will we do if he retires?’” Florio said. “I don’t know if Belichick is a fit there, but there’s only one Patrick Mahomes. If I wanted to catch [Tom] Brady and win a Super Bowl like he did after he left me [Belichick], I’ll partner up with the guy determined to catch Brady with seven total in a heartbeat.”

Reid would love to continue coaching. That’s what he said in his most recent convo with the media.

“I haven’t even thought about that,” Reid told reporters on January 6. “I’m thinking about one thing. I figured that would come up when you guys were asking these questions, because I’m old. But not that old.”
