Lakers Anthony Davis To Be Evaluated For Shoulder Injury After Giannis Antetokounmpo Collision In Win Over Bucks

Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis has missed just five games so far in the regular season, but he may be forced to miss even more due to a shoulder injury. Davis collided with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. According to Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, AD will be evaluated on his left shoulder before the team makes a statement on his physical condition.

The Lakers celebrated a great 123-122 win over the Bucks. LeBron James sat out the game, but his absence didn’t stop Lakers players. D’Angelo Russell was dominant on the floor, delivering 44 points.

“I think he got bumped … He’s being looked at,” said Ham. “So we’ll see. We’ll have an update tomorrow at some point.”

The Lakers team physician checked Davis after the collision and his face wasn’t really smiling. Davis did return to the basketball floor and even saw some action by the end of the game. However, he didn’t really use his left shoulder. He did just two free throws and gave out the impression that he was in pain. Lifting his left arm wasn’t really easy.

Davis says his shoulder feels sore, fans worried about his injury

The team has yet to issue an update on Davis’ shoulder. He was spotted holding a large ice wrap inside the Lakers locker room. His shoulder was sore, but there may not be a bigger issue at this point.

“Sore. Couldn’t really move it after that,” Davis told reporters about the Giannis collision. “But, I’ll get some treatment and see how it feels tomorrow.”

Losing Davis to an injury would be a big blow for the Lakers. They are already without LeBron, but playing without both LeBron and AD would be a disaster. The Lakers have already been there. They missed too many games in their absence. Russell played well in the win over the Bucks, but Ham needs his superstars to get things going.
