Lakers React To Anthony Davis Injury In Shocking Loss Vs. Warriors

Anthony Davis suffered an injury early in the game against the Golden State Warriors. Trayce Jackson-Davis hit him in the eye in the first quarter of the loss. The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a big loss to the Warriors and Davis’ absence was definitely a factor.

The Lakers big man tried to continue the game, but left the basketball court after a few possessions. Fans thought it was a minor scare, but the Lakers ruled him out with an “eye contusion.”

Losing Davis was a big blow for the Lakers and they suffered a 128-121 loss. Now they have a 36-32 record for the season. Lakers fans are worried about the outcome of this injury and the end of the regular season.

“He got an elbow to his left eye,” said head coach Darvin Ham in the postgame press conference. “Wasn’t able to see. Vision blurred. Looking at the doctors, they were working on him from the time he left the floor … through halftime. The biggest thing is making sure he’s okay. And we’ll get an update on him pretty soon.”

Lakers players struggled to win after Davis suffered an injury

Jaxson Hayes stepped in as a replacement at center. He finished the game with seven points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes of action. The talented player tried to fill the void AD left behind, but the Warriors took advantage of it.

“It shifts everything,” Ham said about the Davis injury. “When you lose one of your main pieces, it’s gonna change the rotation. It eliminates size. They’re a smaller team at the rim, so it takes another seven-footer out of the game, for us.”

LeBron James is well aware of the role Davis plays on the floor. Players have a hard time winning games without him. They had to continue the game without one of the key players. According to LeBron, there are things his team cannot do without the big man.

“It just hurts the balance of our team,” added LeBron. “It’s tough when you have a big component to the puzzle, and then you don’t have it.”
