Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is the perfect role model for young players. Fans and rivals follow every accomplishment LeBron makes. He sure knows how to make people talk. If you are interested in numbers, LeBron has a chance to become the first player in league history to hit the 40,000-point mark in his career.

The four-time NBA champion may be 39, but age doesn’t stop him from winning games. In the brilliant win over the Washington Wizards, LeBron scored 31 points, nine assists, four rebounds, one block, and one steal. Is he looking forward to his next accomplishment?

“I can’t sit here and say, ‘No.’ Because, of course [it is important],” LeBron told the media. “No one has ever done it. And for me to be in this position at this point in time of my career, I think, is pretty cool. Does it sit at the top of my things that I’ve done in my career? No. But does it mean something? Of course. Absolutely. Why wouldn’t it?”

An accomplishment worth chasing, LeBron has other plans

LeBron was really excited and respectful when he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as an all-time leading scorer.. One thing stands for sure. LeBron doesn’t take anything for granted. He wants to be the best of the best.

“To be able to accomplish things in this league, the greatest players in this league, the NBA, and this been a dream of mine, and to hit feats and have milestones throughout my career, they all mean something to me,” LeBron said. “Absolutely.”

The Lakers superstar had great plans for his NBA career. Hitting 40,000 points means a thing, but he may have other priorities right now.

“Obviously, there’s a pecking order of which ones is higher than others,” LeBron added. “But … I would be lying to you if I said, ‘No, it doesn’t mean anything’. Because it absolutely does.”

LeBron is not chasing records. It just happens naturally. That’s what makes him a great player.
