Julian Edelman hasn’t elaborated about the recent loss of teammate Josh Gordon when asked about the wide receiver’s indefinite suspension this week, but he showed amazing support to Josh Gordon on social media.

Josh Gordon left the Patriots in order to take care of his mental health. But, that was not the only Gordon-related news these days. The receiver was suspended for “violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement under the Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.”

The tributes come just a day after Brady appeared detached from Gordon’s departure, as reported by NBC Sports Boston.

A former Pro Bowler with the Browns, Gordon announced before his latest suspension that he’d be stepping away from football to focus on his mental health.

“I take my mental health very seriously at this point to ensure I remain able to perform at the highest level,” Gordon wrote. “I have recently felt like I could have a better grasp on things mentally. With that said, I will be stepping away from the football field for a bit to focus on my mental health. I would like to thank Coach (Bill) Belichick, Mr. (Robert) Kraft, as well as countless others within the Patriots organization for their continued support.”

Patriots players talked about Gordon, too.

He was a great teammate. He worked his butt off while he was here. So I think for us as players, we wish him the best personally. … I think, as people, you feel for that. I mean, if you don’t, I guess you don’t, but I think as guys in this locker room, we care more about him and him getting well and all of those things more than him catching passes. Play football. Just keep playing. I think we realize the task we have at hand Sunday — a game that we feel is a must-win. We’ve got to come out here, play well at home and get a win coming off back-to-back losses,” McCourty said.
