Charles Barkley Makes Bombshell Statement About Lakers Winning NBA Title
The Los Angeles Lakers did not have much luck in the past few months. Signing LeBron James was not enough, and things turned really bad when he injued on Christmas Day. LeBron hopes to win an NBA title with the team, and that depends on the possibility that the Lakers add another star to the roster. That’s what NBA legend Charles Barkley says.
Los Angeles owns the 10th seed in the Western Conference and have a tight schedule in the next month. The team was burdened with rumors regarding the trade of Anthony Davis and some of the young prospects could not cope with the fact that Magic Johnson wants to send them somewhere else. The deal did not happen as the New Orleans Pelicans turned down the offer. But, Barkley said that the Lakers will have to try to get the star.
“They are obviously trying to get in Anthony Davis. It is probably going to be the most interesting summer in NBA history,” he said. “You have four teams that have two max slots available. The Lakers and the Clippers. And the Knicks and the Nets. In the two biggest markets.”
LeBron James is not used to losing games, and this failure is giving him some hard time. LeBron pointed to the mistakes his team has done in the past few games, and even offered a few ideas when it comes to fixing the damage.
“This is a tough loss for us,” James said. “We didn’t have consistent play from all facets of the game. Offensively and defensively, we jacked up a lot of coverages to start the game. In the third quarter we jacked up a lot of our coverages again. It was always playing uphill, like we’ve been doing of late. We’ve got to be a lot better.”
