Report: New England Patriots Made Official Decision On Ryan Allen

The New England Patriots have made a few decisions so far, and the last one includes Ryan Allen. We saw this coming, and this move didn’t come as a surprise. It was more than obvious that the Patriots would make such move.

Earlier this week, there were numerous reports suggesting that the Patriots were discussing the possible agreement with punter Ryan Allen. Is there a new way coming his way? Of course. On Friday, the Patriots informed their fans that the deal is sealed.

Allen was signed to a one-year deal worth $1.55 million. He will also get a signing bonus of $100,000.

The punter won the Ray Guy award as best punter in college football in 2011 and 2012 at Louisiana Tech. He has signed his third contract with the Patriots.

Allen’s new contract comes after a brilliant Super Bowl performance. He had five punts for 215 yards. Three of his punts pinned the Los Angeles Rams inside the 10 yard line. Sean McVay’s offense was really tough, but Tom Brady tried really hard, too. Allen was praised as a Super Bowl MVP candidate in the Patriots’ 13-3 win over the Rams.

Allen can also brag with directional punting, and hang time is something he will work on as he finished last in the league in that category in 2018. The Patriots knew what they were doing, and Allen fits well in their winning formula.

“Business is business. There’s a lot of turnover each year. There’s a lot that goes into it,” Allen told The Herald in February. “I’m just grateful to have been able to play six of my years, especially my younger years, in such a first class organization to learn how to be a mature professional, how to train like one…do your job, that goes in all facets of life. I truly believe that.”
