Ryan Shazier Sends Note To Brady After QB’s Kind Words

Ryan Shazier is a true inspiration for millions of people. He is still making progress in his recovery. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was the first to encourage Shazier to proceed with his progress.

Shazier was moved by Brady’s kind words, and thanked him in the most brilliant way. He thanked TB12 for his support, and that’s more than brilliant if you take into consideration their roots.

Last month, the Steelers announced the capacity in which their player will assist the team next season. Shazier won’t hit the field in the 2019 season as he recovers from the spine stabilization surgery he had in December 2017. Shazier will also have his contract tolled into next season. In other words, he will be part of the Steelers’ roster as part of the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List. The player will be paid for the 2019 season, and the team will provide Shazier with his regular medical insurance.

“We will continue to support Ryan’s efforts to return to play,” Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said in a statement  “Although he won’t be able to help us on the field in 2019, his leadership, insight, and emotional support have always been very valuable to us, and we look forward to his contributions in our pursuit of a championship.”

Shazier is the 15th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. He missed seven games in his rookie season, and his best game happened in Week 2 of the 2015 season. The player recorded 15 tackles, a sack a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

“I really can’t complain at all,” Shazier said when accepting an award in Columbus, Ohio. “Just trusting the Lord and working hard. I do feel like, just having my family and having a positive mindset and just feeling like I’m going to get better. If I didn’t think about getting better and thought that things wouldn’t change, I would be stuck where I’m at. I’m truly just thankful that I have a great mindset.”

“I still plan on trying to play football,” he said. “I’m constantly just working and trying to figure out what I’m going to do off the field also. Maybe coaching, maybe getting into business. But right now, my main goal is to play football.”
