Tom Brady Responds To Being Called Greatest Quarterback Ever

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is the greatest of all time, and everyone knows it, including former Jets quarterback Joe Namath.

If you ask Namath, he will say that Brady is the best quarterback to ever lead a team.

Tom is the best,” Namath said. “I’ve been asked that question for many years — and Johnny (Unitas) was my hero, Otto Graham was great, Slingin’ Sammy Baugh, I go back, these guys are great. But meantime, Tom has been challenged more in recent history certainly with huge games than anybody I can recollect — and he stepped up every time.”

What makes Brady this special?

“I would have to say he’s the best at answering the challenge there ever was, yes,” Namath said. “I’ve not seen anybody have that many big games and answer the challenge as well as he has.”

Namath explained that many players, including him, have made mistakes that led to losses. Well, Brady has never made one.

“I have not seen Tom Brady lose a game for his team,” Namath added.

Brady heard about the compliments, and had to say thank you.

However, he doesn’t like being called the GOAT. Remember?

Brady appered on “Good Mornind America” with Michael Straham right after the championship win. He used the opportunity to say that he doesn’t like being called the “GOAT.”

“I don’t even like that. I don’t even like it — it makes me cringe,” Brady said. “I guess I take compliments worse than — I wish you would say, ‘You’re trash, you’re too old, you’re too slow, you can’t get it done no more,'” And I’ll say, ‘Thank you very much, I’m gonna go prove you wrong.'”

“I was a late bloomer. I struggled in college. I struggled in the early part of my career. I was never the first guy chosen,” Brady told Strahan. “So I think that part is in me, it’s deep, it’s there and it’s not going anywhere. The foundation of where I was, who I am, where I started. Where I am now is a reflection of so many situations and occurrences that have to happen.”
