Watch: Chase Winovich Visits Local High School Football Team, Fires Up Players

Patriots rookie Chase Winovich visited Franklin High School on Friday ahead of the team’s quarterfinal playoff game.

Chase Winovich delivered a great speech, and the players needed something like this. He talked about highlight moments from his high school game and the players went crazy after one particular line.

“You take from them everything. And when they move, you smash them,” the rookie said.

Franklin defeated Attleboro 14-0, so yes, Winovich did a really good job with his speech.

The rookie had his first touchdown with the Patriots, and the NFL fined him for launching the football outside the field.

“It was up there — like, someone’s gonna hit me,” Winovich said after the game. “It was an experience, for sure. Shoutout to my teammates for blocking the punt, blocking for me and helping me finish the play.

“Back in high school, it’s been a while,” Winovich said of the last time he scored a touchdown. “I’ve been planning on throwing in the stands for a while, so it’s kinda already been accounted for. But I didn’t know the fine was quite so steep. No regrets. The last touchdown that I had was as a runner, as a quarterback running the ball. I probably threw some passes as well, no big deal.”

He didn’t get the ball following the touchdown. We do hope that he has it now.

“I didn’t get the ball back, no not yet. I’m hoping that the lucky fan that went home with a souvenir returns it to me. Honestly for me, it’s mostly the experience of scoring the touchdown. That’s priceless. A football is a football and yeah it’s cool to look back on it, but I have the film to look back on it. The memory with my teammates celebrating in the end zone, that’s priceless. There’s no football that can equate to that.”

The Patriots are playing the Baltimore Ravens. They made a few changes to the roster with Mohamed Sanu being the latest addition. The Ravens are a big bite to swallow, but Tom Brady, head coach Bill Belichick and the rest of the guys are ready for that.
