LeBron’s Triple-Double Leads Lakers To 12th-Consecutive Win

The Los Angeles Lakers had an incredible start of the regular season, and they are chasing history now. LeBron James’ team held the Orlando Magic to a season-low nine points in the first quarter. Orlando returned back in the game, but the Lakers finished the game with a nine-point win, 96-87, and that’s another road trip victory. The 96 points are the second-lowest scoring total of the regular season. However, LeBron scored another triple-double.

LA hold Orlando under 90 points, and that’s the third time they’ve held a team under 90 and the ninth time they’ve held an opponent under 100 points in the regular season. The Lakers have a perfect 9-0 record when holding teams under 100.

LeBron controlled the game with his triple-double. The king of basketball scored 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. This is his sixth triple-double of the season and 87th triple-double of his career. These triple-doubles tie him with Russell Westbrook for second-most in the NBA and puts him one shy of Luka Doncic for most triple-doubles in the NBA for the season.

Los Angeles is 5-1 in games where LeBron recorded a triple-double, and the only loss came in the game against the Toronto Raptors.

Another triple-double on the road

The latest win gives the Lakers their 12th consecutive road win for the season. This is the beginning of a five-game road stretch. They are playing the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers, and Milwaukee Bucks.

It’s not exactly the easiest slate of opponents as the Heat has yet to lose at home. Miami is at a perfect 11-0 and Indiana has the best stretch of the season with seven wins in the last 10 games. If the Lakers can get through the first three games with wins, their game against Milwaukee- winners of 16-consecutive games – would be a good opportunity to tie history.

The 1971 Lakers have the record for most consecutive road wins at 16 games. If LeBron’s team can go through the difficult road stretch without a loss, they will break the record.

LeBron, Anthony Davis and the rest of the team have all the talent they need to confront Giannis Antetokoumpo and Milwaukee.
