Gronk Offers Tom Brady Advice For Pending Free Agency

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will become a free agent for the first time in his professional career. There’s an ongoing discussion about his next move, and many say that Brady will stay with the New England Patriots. Some are convinced that he will put on a different uniform. Retired tight end Rob Gronkowski believes that TB12 should explore free agency before making a decision.

Gronk played on the same team with Brady for nine seasons. He addressed Brady’s future during FOX’s pre-Super Bowl LIV media availability.

“I really haven’t talked to Tom like that,” Gronk said. “I did talk to him, though, after the game. Just talked. It wasn’t even all about football. It was just about life and all. But I truly believe that he deserves the opportunity to go explore — to see what’s out there. He’s been playing for so long, and just the way that he’s been playing — just the level he’s been playing at — he definitely deserves an opportunity to go out there and test the market.

“I mean, why wouldn’t you? You’ve never done it before in your career, and he’s going to be a free agent for the first time ever, so good for him. Go test out the market and then do what’s best for himself. That’s the decision that he has to make is what’s best for himself, what’s best for his family and what he feels like he’s going to love. So that’s all up to Tom. He’s a grown man, and he’ll be able to make that decision on his own.”

What will happen on the first day of free agency?

According to Gronk, seeing TB12 wearing the uniform of a different team “would definitely be strange for a couple of weeks.”

He said, “But everyone adapts like any other time it happens.”

Brady’s contract with the Patriots will soon be over, and the team will have to offer him a deal before March 18. Both sides have to come to terms on an extension before the beginning of free agency.

Brady’s free agency is the hottest topic ahead of the game between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs at Hard Rock Stadium. Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana advised the star quarterback to re-sign with his current team.

The GOAT liked his time with the Patriots. It’s his second home. Retirement is not really an option at this point, and Brady is definitely going for a few more seasons. In one of his recent posts, he wrote that he still has a lot to offer. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee his contract with the Patriots, but it sure suggests that he will stay on the field for a really long time.
