LeBron James’ All-Star Game Jersey Sells For Record Amount At Auction

Lakers superstar LeBron James led Team LeBron at the NBA All-Star Game last month. Someone bought the jersey he wore at the All-Star Game for $630,300 at NBA auctions on Thursday. This move broke the record for the highest-selling modern NBA jersey. Several sources confirmed the information, including Darren Rovell of ESPN. According to him, LeBron’s jersey got 231 bids.

The money will be donated to the Mamba On Three Fund and the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation to honor late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna. The Black Mamba and Gigi died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26.

The All-Star Game was a big revelation

Team LeBron wore the No. 2 at the All-Star Game to pay homage to Gigi. The talented girl wore No. 2 with her team.

King James scored 23 points in the 157-153 win for Team LeBron. Team Giannis wasn’t that go after all.

The king of basketball inked a deal with the Lakers during the summer of 2018. LeBron’s debut season with the team ended up on Christmas Day. LeBron suffered a groin injury and missed 17 straight games. It was a rather serious injury. The Lakers went just 37-45 and missed the playoff run. This was the first time a LeBron-led team failed to make the deep postseason since his second year in the NBA in 2004-05.

The Lakers recovered right on time. The team acquired superstar, big man, Anthony Davis through a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart had to leave the team. LA packed the roster with capable veterans including Danny Green, Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, and Dwight Howard. This is the second stint with the team.

At this moment, Los Angeles has a 47-13 record and sits atop the Western Conference. There’s a little over a month to play before the playoffs begin.

Bryant’s team will be making the playoffs this season for the first time since the 2012-13 season. Will LeBron keep his promise and win a title this season? Many analysts would give a positive answer to this question.
