Report: Patriots Have Already Set Their NFL Draft QB Plan

The New England Patriots will have to play wise with their quarterback plans, and the NFL Draft will reveal their big plans. The team’s NFL Draft plan doesn’t hang in the air at the moment.

New England is set on drafting a quarterback this offseason. Head coach Bill Belichick will have to fix his winning formula. The head coach is probably committed to selecting a young quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. This has nothing to do with Tom Brady’s offseason move.

“A quarterback will be drafted by New England this year, according to one source within the team,” Matt Miller from Bleacher Report wrote. “Whether that’s in Round 1 or later depends on Tom Brady’s free-agency decision. League sources still believe Brady returns to the Patriots for 2020.”

New England doesn’t have a built-in replacement for the GOAT. Jarrett Stidham was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The 23-year-old completed 2 of 4 passes for 14 yards and one interception in the 2019 season.

The Patriots have great plans for the NFL Draft

Brady will enter the open market for the very first time in his professional football career. Some sources reveal that Brady seriously considers leaving the Patriots.

“Tom Brady is currently operating under the belief that he will enter free agency to play somewhere other than New England next season, a sentiment the quarterback has shared with others,” ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported this week.

If this happens, the Patriots may try to draft his replacement in late April.

2019 wasn’t Brady’s best season, but it wasn’t his fault. Brady lacked offensive weapons to win more games. That’s one of the main issues head coach Belichick will have to solve this offseason. Will he sign a new quarterback? Will he give Brady a two-year deal? Brady didn’t receive the deal he was hoping for last season. If this doesn’t happen, Brady may easily sign with the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders. Each of these teams is ready to sign Brady to a great deal. The Raiders are ready to give him a two-year deal worth $60 million. What will happen next?
