Details Emerge On Lamar Miller’s Contract With New England Patriots

The New England Patriots will do their best to get the best players on the roster. The team lost a lot of valuable players this summer. Eight players opted out of the regular season. Tom Brady left the team this offseason. Several other contributors followed his footsteps and signed somewhere else. Lamar Miller now has a potential contract with the Patriots and we have details on the deal.

The veteran running back reached an agreement with the Patriots. His contract offers a base salary of $1.05 million with $200,000 guaranteed as confirmed in a report by Field Yates from ESPN.

Miller has a chance to earn a total of $2.5 million if he hits all the incentives.

Lamar Miller may get a chance for better contract with the Patriots

The veteran was a productive rusher and pass catcher during his game with the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans. Inconsistency was never a problem for Miller. However, he missed all of 2019 due to a torn ACL. The Patriots placed him on the active/physically unable to perform list. Now is unable to practice until the Patriots remove him from the list. Well, this can happen pretty soon.

In fact, Miller joined the Patriots during Friday’s training camp practice. Paul Perillo of Patriots.com was the first to confirm his presence.

The Patriots have a few recovering players, and adding Miller seems like a good shot for head coach Bill Belichick. The Patriots added running back Sony Michel to the PUP list as he recovers from an offseason injury. Michel had to undergo surgery to fix his food. James White, Rex Burkhead, Damien Harris, and undrafted rookie J.J. Taylor will play in the Patriots’ backfield.

It’s a big battle for the Patriots. They seem to be ready for the challenge. New England has to prove doubters wrong. They lost Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Critics believe that his departure killed the team’s chance to win a ring. Head coach Belichick is here to prove them wrong, and he works really hard to rebuild the roster. Remember the theory of him tanking the 2020 season?
