Wild Defensive Stat for Lakers’ Alex Caruso Revealed

There is a pretty crazy defensive stat going around about Alex Caruso recently and it is pretty wild. The Los Angeles Lakers are busy trying to get ready for their second round series against the Houston Rockets. The Lakers will definitely be the favorites in this series. They are the better team, after all. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis, they could very well be pretty much unstoppable.

But the Rockets are a formidable foe. With James Harden and Russell Westbrook, they should be able to put up a fight against the team with the best record in the Western Conference in the Los Angeles Lakers. But there is another player that might be less well known but could have a huge impact on the series.

This man would be Alex Caruso. There is a pretty remarkable state going around about him and it was surprising to see. We might not think of him as a defender, but apparently that is exactly what he is.

Wild Defensive Stat for Lakers’ Alex Caruso Revealed

Behind Giannis Antetokounmpo, Caruso might just be one of the toughest defenders in the NBA. This is shown on a recent Tweet that was put out by ESPN.

He is averaging a defensive rating of 90.2 which got the attention of head coach Frank Vogel. He recently gave Caruso some very kind words.

“We don’t win this series if [Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Caruso] don’t play at the level that they played at on two of the best guards in the game in Dame and CJ. Even though they’re excelling on the defensive end, they’re making plays offensively as well,” Vogel said.“They were a huge part of this series victory.”

“We’re hoping to have him in uniform and in the rotation on Friday,” Vogel said.

The Lakers are definitely a very good defensive team. They will need to keep it up if they want to continue to be successful in the Playoffs. But with LeBron and Davis both on the roster, they should have quite a bit of success.
