Latest Julian Edelman IG Post Makes It Hard To Imagine Patriots WR Retiring

The New England Patriots missed the playoffs in 2020, and many thought that head coach Bill Belichick would modify the roster to his liking. Well, this is partially true. Belichick signed a group of talented free agents in the last few days. Some of his current players consider leaving the team. Guess what… Julian Edelman doesn’t even think of leaving the Patriots, and retiring is not on his menu at the moment.

2020 was an awful season for the team, and Edelman missed most of the season. He had to undergo a knee surgery to fix his leg. He was also placed on the COVID list and didn’t really see any action following the surgery. The 2018 Super Bowl MVP played just six games this past season. Some experts thought he’d retire in the offseason. Edelman has a big surprise for everyone.

Julian Edelman is not retiring

Belichick is willing to get younger and more explosive players for his skill positions. Logically, this would push Edelman away from New England. If you thought that the Patriots would part ways with Edelman in case he doesn’t retire. Well, we are not trying to hint anything, but we’d really like to share a different side of the story.

If you follow Edelman’s Instagram activity, you have probably noticed that he looks like someone who plans to put on a Patriots jersey in 2021.

The veteran wideout took to his Instagram Tuesday afternoon, and his post brought joy to pretty much every Patriots fan.

Of course, this post could mean nothing. This is just Edelman celebrating his Patriots success. He was really happy to see Belichick spend a lot of money in the past few days. Edelman is a great supporter of the recent signings. He will be working with a group of talented players.

But, Edelman wouldn’t post anything like this if he planned to retire. He is more than certain about his future in New England and that’s pretty much everything you should know right now.

If he stays, Belichick wouldn’t give him a big role though. Let’s see how that plays out.
