Lakers New Big Man Andre Drummond Gives Gruesome Injury Update

The Los Angeles Lakers played against the Milwaukee Bucks. The team lost the game and Giannis Antetokounmpo celebrated a 112-97 win. However, Andre Drummond suffered an injury and fans are worried.

The big man played just 14 minutes in his debut and scored four points in the night. Drummond had just a couple of rebounds. Well, everyone was trying to see more of the newly-acquired player.

Drummond picked up the start and suffered his injury in the first quarter. Bucks big man Brook Lopes stepped on Drummond’s foot and the Lakers big man lost his toenail.

“I didn’t really think anything of it,” Drummond told reporters after the game. “I came back in the second quarter and it was hurting a little bit more. And then after halftime, I finally took my sock off to look and my whole toenail was gone. So, it was just all bad from there. I couldn’t walk or run. So I just told Coach [Frank Vogel] to take me out.”

Andre Drummond, Frank Vogel aren’t worried about the injury

Drummond signed with the Lakers and this was a really good fit for the team.

“What do you do for a toe? I don’t know,” said Drummond. “I’m not really sure what to do. I’m just going to talk to the training staff and find out what’s the best thing to do to get back as quick as possible.”

He wore sandals during the postgame interview.

The X-rays came negative. However, the Lakers have to make a decision on his return. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are out and many thought that Drummond would have provided a strong boost for the team.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is focused on the game. He isn’t really worried about Drummond’s injury.

“We don’t worry about that,” Vogel said. “We worry about the guys in uniform. Know we have enough. We have a deep team. We’ve been playing better basketball, and we know we can win. Our group is going to grind.”

Let’s see how will the Lakers handle Drummond’s new situation.
