Los Angeles Lakers Get Troublesome Update on Andre Drummond

Los Angeles Lakers fans are worried about the recent update on Andre Drummond and his injury. The newly-signed player suffered an injury in his debut with the team.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Drummond will miss a second straight game. The big man played just 14 minutes in the game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He scored four points on the night. The Lakers ruled him out for the game against the Sacramento Kings.

“Lakers newly-acquired center Andre Drummond will miss a second straight game, today vs. the Clippers, with a torn toenail and bruised right big toe, a source with knowledge of the situation tells ESPN,” McMenamin reported on Sunday.

A concerning update on Andre Drummond

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel revealed that his new player deals with “a great deal of discomfort.” Drummond can’t even get his shoe on.

“He’s still having trouble putting his shoe on the first two days through it,” Vogel told the media prior to the game. “He’s just not there yet. Still in a great deal of discomfort and we want to make sure that this thing gets behind him.”

It was supposed to be a minor injury and experts predicted that Drummond would miss a couple of games. He is not really worried about his injury, but he wanted things to work well for him and his new team.

“I didn’t really think anything of it,” Drummond told reporters after losing his toenail. “I came back in the second quarter and it was hurting a little bit more. And then after halftime, I finally took my sock off to look and my whole toenail was gone. So, it was just all bad from there. I couldn’t walk or run. So I just told coach to take me out.

“What do you do for a toe? I don’t know. I’m not really sure what to do. I’m just going to talk to the training staff and find out what’s the best thing to do to get back as quick as possible.”

Los Angeles will also play without Wesley Matthews. He is missing time due to a neck contusion.

Marc Gasol will see a bigger load in the next few games. He played a season-low 5 minutes in Drummond’s first game with the team, Gasol played 28 minutes in the win against Sacramento. He finished the night with 5 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
