Lakers Coach Frank Vogel Has Major Update On LeBron James

Will Frank Vogel let LeBron James play? The Los Angeles Lakers have two games left on the regular season schedule. These games are really important for the team and players need to win them in order to avoid the play-in tournament. The Lakers are within striking distance of the No.6 seed in the Western Conference. LA had a couple of days off and will play tonight. Heading into Saturday’s game, Vogel talked about LeBron and his potential return to the lineup. The head coach provided an update.

LeBron will be available for Saturday’s game against the Indiana Pacers. Point guard Dennis Schroder will play, too. When it comes to Alex Caruso, he will be out for precautionary reasons.

Frank Vogel needs LeBron James on the floor

King James has been treating a high ankle sprain for two weeks. He missed six straight games and missed 26 of the last 28. This is the longest injury stretch in his great career.

When healthy, LeBron plays excellent basketball. He is making great headlines and his stats do the talking. The four-time NBA champion is averaging 25 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.8 assists in 43 games with the team.

LA struggled in LeBron’s absence. Anthony Davis was the first to sustain an injury and he missed a lot of time. AD suffered his injury on Valentine’s Day and missed a couple of months. Davis’ injury was a big blow for the Lakers, and LeBron’s struggles made everything worse.

The Lakers fell into a big slump in the past few months. Between April 19 and May 7, the team lost eight of 10 games. This shut down their hopes for a home court advantage and sent them into play-in tournament contention.

LA celebrated two wins and suffered a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. They may finish 6th and avoid the play-in tournament. If they don’t do this, they will have to play Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors to make the playoffs. The same applies to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Vogel would love to have LeBron back. However, the king will have to be 100% ready for the show.
