Jeanie Buss Doubles Down on Lakers Star LeBron James’ Disputable Take on Play-In

The NBA made a decision on the play-in tournament and some people won’t be really happy with it. LeBron James was among the first to criticize the decision and a lot of people blasted his controversial take. Well, LeBron has the right to share his opinion. He was pretty vocal about every topic in the past.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was loud and clear. LeBron’s reaction to the tournament drew polarizing responses around the league. Some players support him while others criticize his controversial comments.

LeBron and his Lakers teammates made the play-in tournament and won the game. They sent Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors home. It was a short run and the Lakers lost the chance to make the NBA Finals. They were defeated by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs.

Jeanie Buss supports LeBron James and his controversial take

Lakers team owner Jeanie Buss doubled down on LeBron’s take on the tournament. Daniel Kaplan of The Athletic has more details.

“I obviously see the excitement of it,” said the Lakers owner. “If we would have lost two games, we wouldn’t have been in the playoffs at all. And that’s, that’s a tough pill to swallow. When you’ve been in the top eight for the entire season. You never dropped out of the playoff position. But yet, you know, you can lose two games, and that’s what happened to Golden State, they were at the eighth spot, and then they ended up losing to us and then to Memphis and they didn’t make it in the playoffs. I could see where it’s kind of fun for one game, but I don’t want to diminish what happens in the regular season.”

Buss and LeBron don’t like the decision, but Silver will still push through with the play-in tournament in the 2021-22 NBA season.

The Los Angeles Lakers will do their best to avoid the tournament this season. They have a lot of players with strong playoff experience. Let’s see what happens next in the NBA.
