Patriots Veteran Player Has Convincing Comment On Mac Jones

Pretty much every NFL person has a comment on New England Patriots rookie Mac Jones.

The Patriots selected their rookie in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Belichick used his 15th pick to get the Alabama prospect. It was a good decision as Jones had an incredible outing in the preseason.

Jones was able to leave a really good impression on his teammates and coaches.

Head coach Bill Belichick didn’t say much about his rookie, but decided to give him a chance in the preseason.

In Tuesday’s media session, Patriots special teams star Matthew Slater talked about the 2021 draft class.

“He’s a great young man. Character really counts when you talk about what we do off the football field, the way we carry ourselves, the way we approach our profession, the way we do things in the community,” Slater said. “That translates to the football field. I think Mac is a fine young man.”

An eye-opening comment on Mac Jones

Slater added that Jones’ character is so respectable that his loved ones should be proud of him.

“His family should be proud of the way they raised him, the way he carries himself and the way he commands respect of even guys like myself. He’s earned that respect with the way he’s gone about his craft.”

This sure means a thing. Jones has received praise from his teammates. Slater likes him a lot. This is more than good news. Jones can become a leader for the Patriots.

The rookie has the chance to show what he can do on the field this week. Cam Newton is out until Thursday. If he does a good job, he will win the starting job for Week 1.

Jones challenged Newton at the very first moment he joined the Patriots. The ongoing quarterback battle caught everyone’s attention. A young player goes against the 2015 NFL MVP. This sure means a thing in the league. NFL legends would love to see Jones on the field, but this may not happen in the upcoming season. He will have to wait.
