Key Patriots Starter Returns Ahead Of Week 2 Jets Game

The New England Patriots will have their top starter back on the field in Week 2 of regular season. Trent Brown and Kyle Van Noy missed practice time due to their respective injuries. Well, Brown is back.

The right tackle suffered an injury in the first quarter of the game and sat out the second one. Brown had to go to the locker room and didn’t return after halftime. Patriots fans were a bit worried about his health but the team provided an encouraging update. Everything points out to the fact that Brown will be back in game action Sunday afternoon. The Patriots will go against the New York Jets and they really need Brown on the field.

Another Patriots starter may miss Week 2

Brown joined his teammates in Friday’s session in Foxboro. He missed a total of two practices but he was available on Friday. Of course, it was a walkthrough and Brown’s return may not be too exciting at this point. However, this is definitely a ray of hope for us all. Brown has a key role for the Patriots. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones needs him on the field.

Jones needed strong protection in the season opener against the Miami Dolphins. Justin Herron had to step in as a replacement for Brown. He struggled in the game and Belichick benched him for Yodny Cajuste. Patriots players struggled on the field and Brown has to return right on time.

Let’s move on to the bad news. The Patriots may have Brown back on the field, but they may lose Kyle Van Noy. The veteran missed another practice session. It was the third straight practice he missed this week. Van Noy is dealing with a throat issue but we don’t have much info about the actual problem. Missing three straight practices makes us believe that Van Noy won’t join his teammate against the Jets.

In the game against Miami, Van Noy had a sack, three tackles, and a pass against Miami.

The Patriots have yet to release the final injury report. We will know more about this later in the day.
