Three New Players Reportedly Impressed LeBron James in Training Camp

There are three new players that seemed to have impressed Lakers legend, LeBron James, during training camp. The Lakers are getting their season started in practice for a date of October 20th. Their first tip off will come against the Golden State Warriors and should be a good match up.

There are a few changes to the roster this season, including the additions of Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony. But LeBron was recently asked about who stood out to him so far in training camp and he had some interesting points.

“K. Nunn, Baze, and DJ,” LeBron said about Kendrick Nunn, Kent Bazemore, and DeAndre Jordan. He was asked if anyone in training camp stood out to him. “They’ve picked up some things … Baze, K. Nunn and DJ have been playing really good ball for us, learning our system really fast.”

“All part of the process,” he added. “Continue to work out habits. Continue to emphasize what we want to do, offensively and defensively, and just building a culture.”

He was also asked about Westbrook and what he has seen from him thus far.

“Nothing that he’s not showing me that I didn’t already know,” James said when asked Russ. “Just what a fierce competitor he is. Such a great teammate as well, a communicator.”

Frank Vogel was also asked about Westbrook.

“Russell Westbrook’s pretty good. He’s good at basketball,” Vogel said. “His speed, and not just in the open court — the downhill driving, paint-attacking nature of his game has really been something else to watch up close in practice the last couple days. I think Lakers fans are going to be thrilled to see what he looks like purple-and-gold.”

And last but not least, this crack from Rondo.

“I don’t think Melo’s missed since he’s been a Laker,” Rajon Rondo said.

It sounds like the Lakers are getting their season off the right way. It will be very interesting to see what Russell Westbrook can bring to the table in his first year as a Laker. What do you think?
