Patriots Bolster Their Playoff Hopes With Statement Victory Over Browns

The Patriots have bolstered their playoff hopes with a huge win over the Cleveland Browns yesterday. The Patriots have now won four games in a row and this one was never in question. The Cleveland Browns were coming off of a big win against the Bengals and they were stopped dead in their tracks by the Patriots. Both the offense and defense played well in the stomping the Baker Mayfield. And this is great for the Patriots for are still looking to get back to the playoffs this season.

This is the second blowout win for the Patriots this season. The first one came in week 7 against the New York Jets. But the Jets are a bad team that should be blown out by a team like the Patriots. However, this Cleveland team had high hopes going into the season.

Mac Jones had a few words after the game.

“I think here we do a good job every week of preparing for what we want and it just comes down to practice, execution, becoming game reality, and when we practice well, we play well,” Jones said. “When we don’t practice well, usually we don’t play as well. And so it’s pretty much that simple and we just have to keep doing that.”

Head coach Bill Belichick also talked about the win. It is clear that he is gaining confidence in his team as the season goes on.

“I thought the team really played well today,” he said. “Long touchdown drives, turnovers, competitive plays in the kicking game. Just kind of big play after big play from so many different people. Just really proud of the way the team prepared and the way it competed.”

“As I told them after the game, ‘it’s Wednesday night, tomorrow’s Thursday on a Sunday schedule,” Belichick noted. “We’ve got a lot of work to do here in a short amount of time, so just enjoy this one briefly, but we’ve got to move on and turn the page to Atlanta very quickly.”
